Making heavy industry cleaner, sustainable, more profitable.

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS (September 24, 2021) – Streamline Innovations today announced that Peter Photos, Ph.D., Chief Technical Officer, is scheduled to speak at the RNG Works Technical Workshop & Trade Expo being held on September 29-30, 2021. The conference venue is The Music City Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

The presentation comes at a time of increasing interest in Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) as a source of sustainable energy. Large utilities, including SoCal Gas, are looking to RNG as a cost-effective, carbon-neutral energy source for electric power generation. A recent study referenced by the utility “…shows that replacing less than 20 percent of the traditional gas supply with RNG captured from sources like dairies, wastewater treatment plants and landfills can achieve greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reductions equivalent to converting 100 percent of buildings to electric only energy by 2030.”

RNG Works Technical Workshop & Trade Expo describes itself as an event to educate, demonstrate and promote RNG industry best practices, for purposes of helping realize sustainable development, deployment and utilization of renewable natural gas – and for purposes of helping achieve greater energy independence and access to domestic, renewable, clean fuel and energy supply.

Streamline Innovations TALON™ Sulfide Elimination System™ (TSES™) is a low to no capex solution for treating H2S in water and wastewater, eliminating the source of foul odors, corrosion and cross reactions with other chemical processes with Hydroxyl Radicals.  The TSES utilizes our TALON Redox catalyst combined with an oxygen source (primarily Hydrogen Peroxide), creating an advanced oxidation process that breaks apart H2S and converts it to elemental sulfur.

This video illustrates how TSES works in a typical wastewater treatment application, safely eliminating sulfides and permanently converting them into Simple Elemental Sulfur™ for use in Organic Food Production.

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS (August 31, 2021) – A Florida municipal wastewater treatment plant suffered a catastrophic aeration equipment failure, eliminating its oxygen source causing a rapid depletion of its biomass, the bacteria responsible for reducing biological oxygen demand (BOD), hydro sulfides, and ammonia in wastewater.  As a result, the plant immediately began generating obnoxious odors affecting surrounding neighborhoods and businesses. Odor complaints quickly followed.

Video on the TALON™ Sulfide Elimination System

Streamline Innovations was asked to provide an emergency treatment solution to eliminate odor complaints as well as provide desperately needed dissolved oxygen (DO) to the aeration basin.  The solution utilized was the TALON Sulfide Elimination System™ (TSES) to rapidly oxidize sulfonated organics in the wastewater influent. The TSES Process utilizes the TALON Catalyst and Hydrogen Peroxide, delivered via metering pumps, totes of chemistry and H2S sensors.

Within 24 hours of TSES installation, no malodorous compounds were detected by plant personnel or adjacent neighborhoods.  Furthermore, the TSES Process increased DO from <.1 mg/l to an average of 1.2 mg/l which allowed for increased biologic activity under a reduced mixed liquor level. The TSES process was used until sufficient upgrades allowed conventional secondary treatment.

While TALON is better known for treating H2S in natural gas and biogas, it is equally effective in treating wastewater odor control problems and has been used to treat trillions of gallons of wastewater since its invention.

As a green, environmentally forward, biodegradable liquid Redox chemistry, TALON is the right solution for solving complex challenges in treating H2S, Mercaptans, and related compounds.  Streamline can deploy TALON into wastewater collection systems, lift stations, wastewater treatment plants, storage basins, and related industries, such as food processing, rendering, pulp and paper, and waste management.
