- VALKYRIE® Unit is a key element in upgrading the landfill gas to Renewable Natural Gas for sale to local pipeline utility
- Installation represents a technological breakthrough for H2S treating in very low pressure environments
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS (January 27, 2022) – Streamline Innovations, Inc. today announced the successful installation, startup, and operation of their first ultra-low-pressure VALKYRIE® Unit for treating hydrogen sulfide (H2S) at a landfill in Northern Illinois. The customer is one of the largest full-service providers of solid waste collection and non-hazardous solid waste landfill services in the United States and Canada. This installation achieves Streamline’s goal of expanding into the renewable fuels and gas market.
The VALKYRIE Unit in this application is able to treat up to 11 MMscfd of landfill gas having H2S concentration levels up to 3,000 parts per million (ppm) and operating at less than 4 psig. This is Streamline’s first full installation at a landfill and deployment of its High-Efficiency Contacting System™ for low pressure operations. In addition, the VALKYRIE Unit was configured for extreme winter conditions.
The VALKYRIE Unit installation is part of the customer’s plan to upgrade the landfill gas to be sold as Renewable Natural Gas to the local natural gas pipeline utility. The VALKYRIE Unit reduces the H2S content in the gas stream to the pipeline’s specification of less than 4 ppm.

The Unit provides multiple benefits, including the elimination of routine flaring and the destruction of the H2S by converting it into Simple Elemental Sulfur™, which is listed with the Organic Material Review Institute (OMRI) for use in Organic Production.
Streamline’s technology to reliably treat high H2S concentrations in gas at low pressures represents a technological breakthrough with far reaching implications for gas from anaerobic digesters, landfills, renewable fuels refineries, and industrial exhaust. This technology can handle large changes in gas flows and H2S concentrations, removing much of the uncertainty that otherwise leads to excess flaring.
About Streamline Innovations
Streamline Innovation’s vision is Eliminating Emissions Through Technology. We help heavy industry around the world achieve environmental performance objectives, improve sustainability, and transition to a sustainable, low-carbon economy.
Streamline’s environmentally forward H2S treating solutions help achieve the “E” in ESG. H2S is present in many industrial processes throughout the world. Our technology can be applied across industries, delivering a sustainable solution that eliminates H2S, a leading cause of human inhalation accidents and source of SO2 emissions, a primary cause of acid rain. TALON® chemistry treats effectively in both gas and water phases.
Streamline believes that achieving ESG directives requires data. Creating intelligent systems that operate effectively and efficiently without human intervention is critical to measuring and reducing emissions that harm the environment. We integrate advanced process control, data collection and analytics in our technologies to provide a total solution for customers.
We serve organizations in multiple sectors, including Energy/Oil & Gas, Biogas, Landfill Gas & Renewable Fuels, Municipal Wastewater and Industrial Air & Water.
