The Streamline Innovations Story
Streamline Innovations develops and commercializes innovative technologies that enable customers to achieve environmental performance goals.
We serve organizations in global heavy industries including:
- Energy / Oil & Gas
- Biogas, Landfill Gas & Renewable Fuel
- Municipal Wastewater
- Industrial Air & Water
What all these industries have in common is that their operational processes produce pollution in the form of hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide and other pollutants that if left untreated create significant environmental problems.
Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S). H2S is present in almost every industrial process in the world and is a major pollutant in the Oil & Gas, Wastewater, Renewable Gas, and Industrial markets.
Negative impacts of H2S contamination include:
- H2S is lethal at 0.01%, threatening life, health, safety of operations personnel
- 43% of natural gas and 100% of renewable gas is “sour,” laden with H2S levels that make it unusable without treatment and sour crude oil sold at a deep discount
- When burned (flared), H2S becomes SO2 and forms acid rain, and the world generates over 42 million tons of SO2 per year
- H2S is highly corrosive to critical infrastructure, causing up to $14B in annual sewer losses in the U.S., estimated at $90B+ globally
- Sour gas used as a fuel source damages reciprocating and turbine generators
- H2S is the primary source of noxious odors generated in heavy industries
The effects of untreated pollutants include acid rain, ground-level ozone, severe corrosion to pipelines and sewer infrastructures, a reduced quality of life for workers and communities, reduced sustainability and contribution to climate change.
The old way of treating H2S was to flare it. Burning off gas contaminated by hydrogen sulfide, however, produces other harmful substances, including sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxides. Flaring may eliminate H2S, but it simply converts one harmful substance into other pollutants that create ground-level ozone, haze, respiratory problems, acid rain and accelerate climate change.
Solutions from Streamline Innovations help industry coexist with ecosystems and communities by converting pollutants, including H2S, into inert, non-toxic value-added products that can be used for food production and other beneficial uses. Our proven VALKYRIE™ with TALON® technologies safely and reliably convert H2S into water and elemental sulfur (fertilizer).
Our proven VALKYRIE with TALON technologies have the widest economical operating range of any H2S treating option, giving Streamline a significant advantage in a global market we estimate to be nearly $498 billion annually today and on track to grow to $940 billion by 2030.
Today, our solutions are helping organizations around the world achieve environmental performance objectives and improve sustainability of heavy industry to facilitate the transition to a sustainable, low-carbon economy.
Our Value Proposition
